Rund 8,8 Millionen Euro investiert die Stadt Delbrück in den Bau einer modernen Dreifach-Sporthalle am Nordring, der dann dritten Dreifach-Sporthalle auf dem Schulcampus in Delbrück-Mitte in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Hallenbad. Zum ersten Spatenstich trafen sich jetzt Vertreter aus Politik, Sport, Schule, der Bau-Beteiligten, des Sports und der Verwaltung. Die Fertigstellung ist für 2027 geplant und schon jetzt ist klar, welchen Mehrwert diese Halle für unsere Schulen, Vereine und die gesamte Stadt haben wird. Für mich gilt: Sport ist keine Nebensache - Sport ist Hauptsache. Schulen und Sportvereine profitieren gleichermaßen. Damit wir solche Projekte umsetzen können, braucht es eine solide Finanzierung: die Stadt Delbrück nutzt dafür einen Teil der 15,1 Millionen Euro, die der Stadt als Pauschale aus den 10 Mrd. Euro des Nordrhein-Westfalen-Plans zufließen.

The city of Delbrück is investing approximately 8.8 million euro in the construction of a modern triple-purpose sports hall on Nordring, which will be the third such facility on the school campus in Delbrück-Mitte, located right next to the indoor swimming pool. Representatives from politics, sports, schools, the construction team, and the city administration gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony. Completion is scheduled for 2027, and it is already clear what added value this facility will bring to our schools, clubs, and the entire city. For me, the bottom line is this: Sports are not a side issue?sports are the main issue. Schools and sports clubs benefit equally. To implement such projects, we need solid funding: the city of Delbrück is using part of the 15.1 million euro allocated to the city as a lump sum from the 10 billion euro in the North Rhine-Westphalia Plan.

Über großen Zuspruch für die neue Veranstaltungsreihe "Rathaus aktuell" haben sich jetzt die Veranstalter von Junge Union und Senioren Union Delbrück gefreut. Unter dem Leitgedanken "Delbrück neu denken" stand zum Auftakt die Entwicklung der Delbrücker Innenstadt im Mittelpunkt. Rund 70 Interessierte kamen dafür ins Hotel Waldkrug. Auf dem Podium diskutierten Bürgermeister Johannes Lindhauer, der JU-Vorsitzende Nils Münsterteicher, DEMAG-Ehrenvorsitzender Meinolf Päsch und Meinolf Sandbothe, Vorsitzender des Umwelt-, Bau- und Planungsausschusses, wie sich das Stadtzentrum in Zukunft entwickeln könnte. Die nächste Ausgabe von "Rathaus aktuell" ist für den Sommer geplant ? in der neuen Happe-Zentrale am Lindenweg soll es um das Thema Wirtschaftsförderung gehen.

NRW will Olympia an Rhein und Ruhr ? und im Landtag ist der olympische Geist schon angekommen. Jetzt wurde die olympisch-paralympische Ausstellung "Feuer und Flamme für die Jugend" eröffnet. Sie zeigt in der Wandelhalle Exponate aus der Sammlung des Deutschen Sport- und Olympiamuseums wie Fackeln, Sportgeräte, Trikots und Medaillen. Zu Gast waren mit Matthias Sommer (Viererbob), Axel Jungk (Skeleton) und Jacqueline Pfeifer (Skeleton) auch Medaillengewinner der olympischen Winterspiele in Italien. Begleitet hat mich zu diesem Termin mein amerikanischer Praktikant Silas, der selbst ambitionierter Ruderer ist und täglich trainiert. Mit Handschuhen ausgestattet, durften wir dann auch die olympische Fackel in unseren Händen halten 😉

It features exhibits from the collection of the German Sports and Olympic Museum, such as torches, sports equipment, jerseys, and medals, on display in the lobby. Guests included Matthias Sommer (four-man bobsled), Axel Jungk (skeleton), and Jacqueline Pfeifer (skeleton), all medalists from the Winter Olympics in Italy. I was accompanied to this event by my American intern Silas, who is himself an ambitious rower and trains daily. Once we had been given gloves, we were allowed to hold the Olympic torch in our hands 😉

Im Landtag laufen die Vorbereitungen für die Ausstellungseröffnung des Deutschen Olympia- und Sportmuseums. Unter dem Motto "Feuer und Flamme für die Jugend der Welt" wird ein olympisch-paralympisches "Schaufenster" mit Exponaten aus der Sammlung des Deutschen Sport- und Olympiamuseums Köln errichtet. Hintergrund dafür ist das Bemühen der NRW-Landesregierung für Olympische und Paralympische Spiele an Rhein und Ruhr zu werben.

Besonders gefreut habe ich mich, dass ich bei den Vorbereitungen Dr. Andreas Höfer, Leiter des Olympiamuseums, getroffen habe. Das Trikot in der Glasbox trug einst Ulrike Nasse-Meyfarth. Die ehemalige Hochspringerin gewann zweimal olympisches Gold ? 1972 mit gerade einmal 16 Jahren in München (1,92m) und 1984 in Los Angeles (2,02m).

Die Ausstellung wird am Dienstag, 17. März, um 13.30 Uhr in der Wandelhalle des Landtags eröffnet.

Preparations are underway in the state parliament for the opening of the German Olympic and Sports Museum exhibition. Under the motto "Fire and Flame for the Youth of the World," an Olympic-Paralympic "showcase" will be set up with exhibits from the collection of the German Sports and Olympic Museum in Cologne. The background to this is the efforts of the North Rhine-Westphalia state government to promote the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Rhine and Ruhr regions.

I was particularly pleased to meet Dr. Andreas Höfer, director of the Olympic Museum, during the preparations. The jersey in the glass box was once worn by Ulrike Nasse-Meyfarth. The former high jumper won Olympic gold twice ? in 1972 at the age of just 16 in Munich (1.92 m) and in 1984 in Los Angeles (2.02 m).

The exhibition will open on Tuesday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the state parliament.

Einen Blick ins "Herzstück" der Landespolitik konnte jetzt die Jahrgangsstufe 10 der Realschule Lichtenau bei ihrem Tagesausflug in den Düsseldorfer Landtag werfen. Nach einer Führung durch das Parlament habe ich rund eine Stunde lang mit den Schülerinnen und Schülern diskutiert, Fragen beantwortet und Einblicke in meine abwechslungsreiche Arbeit als Landtagsabgeordneter gegeben. Vielen Dank für Euren Besuch, über den Austausch habe ich mich sehr gefreut!

The 10th grade class at Lichtenau Secondary School got a glimpse into the "heart" of state politics during their day trip to the Düsseldorf State Parliament. After a tour of the parliament, I spent about an hour talking with the students, answering questions, and giving them insights into my varied work as a member of the state parliament.
